H. C. Jennings Scholarship Foundation Awards Presentation

Chief Kenneth C.  Miller invites you to the annual presentation of scholarships from the Harold C. Jennings Foundation, which has been scheduled for Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. at the Marriott on the Parkway.

The Harold C. Jennings Foundation was formed to give financial aid to deserving children, both academically and financially, of police officers including those whose parent is retired, disabled, or killed in the line of duty.  From its formation in 1977, the HCJ Foundation has granted 447 scholarships over the last 40 years totaling $784,390 including this year’s recipients.  Your attendance and coverage of this event will be greatly appreciated.

The recipients for the 2017-2018 scholarship awards are as follows:

Danielle Blair

Daughter of Lieutenant Chi Blair, Danielle will be a freshman at the University of South Carolina majoring in International Business and Political Science.

Monica Colwell

Daughter of Corporal Rob Colwell, Monica is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at North Greenville University majoring in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies.

Audrianna Cureton

Daughter of Sergeant Eric Cureton, Audrianna is a previous scholarship winner who will be a sophomore at Greenville Technical College majoring in Nursing.

Caroline Flavell

Daughter of Corporal Collis Flavell, Caroline will be a freshman at Anderson University majoring in Criminal Justice.

Patrick Galvin

Son of Officer Pat Galvin, Patrick is a previous scholarship winner who will be a junior at Greenville Technical College majoring in Nursing.

Ryan Huntington

Son of Corporal Mark Huntington, Ryan will be a sophomore at The Citadel majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

McKenzie Hyatt

Daughter of Corporal Kevin Hyatt, McKenzie will be a freshman at Clemson University majoring in Business.

Sydney Long

Daughter of Lieutenant Jeff Long, Sydney will be a freshman at North Greenville University majoring in Physical Therapy.

Michael Madden

Son of retired Captain Mike Madden, Michael will be a freshman at Piedmont Technical College majoring in Computer Technology.

Darby McJunkin

Daughter of retired Corporal Joey McJunkin, Darby is a previous scholarship winner who will be a junior at Greenville Technical College majoring in Accounting.

Kara Mills

Daughter of Sergeant Charlie Mills, Kara will be a freshman at Greenville Technical College majoring in Dental Hygiene.

Jalen Neely-Pearson

Daughter of Sergeant Travis Pearson, Alexus is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at USC Upstate majoring in Criminal Justice.

Jesse W. Nelson

Son of Corporal Mark Nelson, Wyatt will be a freshman at Greenville Technical College in the College Transfer Program.

Collin Owens

Son of Captain Stacey Owens, Collin will be a freshman at Greenville Technical College in the College Transfer Program.

Travis Pearson

Son of Sergeant Travis Pearson, Travis is a previous scholarship winner who will be a sophomore at Greenville Technical College majoring in Criminal Justice.

Boyce Roulette

Son of retired Corporal Blake Roulette, Boyce is a previous scholarship winner who will be a sophomore at Clemson University majoring in Management.
