04/30/08 Florida "MySpace" Suspect Arrested for Lewd and Lacivious Molestation

Anson Lawes BrownHollywood, Florida, Police obtained a warrant to arrest Brown (of North Miami Beach) after they received information from detectives in California April 10th that a 15-year-old female was missing and believed to be in Hollywood with Brown, who she met on “My Space.”

Police did locate the girl, who was alone at the time. The investigation revealed Brown communicated with the teen-ager for approximately four months and paid for her to fly from California to South Florida to “work in the entertainment industry.” However, once at the Hollywood address Brown removed documents relating to her identity, provided her with fake ID and told her to memorize it. Greenville City Police Officer Michael Hammett saw Brown at the Econo Lodge early this morning; made contact with him for a field interview and obtained his Florida driver’s license. He ran it on NCIC and it came back with the active warrant. Brown will be extradited to Florida and in the meantime is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center under no bond.
