Harold C Jennings Scholarships Awarded

Interim Chief G. M. Gambrell invites you to the annual presentation of scholarships from the Harold C. Jennings Foundation which has been scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Marriott on the Parkway.

    The Harold C. Jennings Foundation was formed to give financial aid to deserving children, both academically and financially, of police officers including those whose parent is retired, disabled, or killed in the line of duty.  From its formation in 1977, the HCJ Foundation has granted a total of 408 scholarships over the last 37 years totaling $663,423 including this year’s recipients.  Your attendance and coverage of this event will be greatly appreciated.

           The recipients for the 2014-2015 scholarship awards are as follows:

Radeja Attaway

    Daughter of Corporal Rob Attaway, Radeja is a previous scholarship winner who will be a sophomore at Converse College majoring in Elementary Education.

Lauren Blair

    Daughter of Sergeant Chi Blair, Lauren is a previous scholarship winner who will be sophomore at the University of Kentucky majoring in Psychology.

Leah Brown

    Daughter of retired Corporal Charlie Brown, Leah is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at Winthrop University majoring in Psychology.

Tevin Chappelle

    Son of retired Sergeant Johnny Chappelle, Tevin is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at the University of South Carolina majoring in Criminal Justice.

Monica Colwell

    Daughter of Corporal Rob Colwell, Monica will be a freshman at North Greenville University majoring in Criminal Justice.

Nicole Colwell

    Daughter of Corporal Rob Colwell, Nicole is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at North Greenville University majoring in Business Administration.

Labrian Drummond

    Son of retired Corporal Larry Drummond, Labrian is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at Clemson University majoring in Clinical Psychology.

Brian Ettari

    Son of retired Detective Jim Ettari, Brian is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at the College of Charleston majoring in Business Administration.

Nathaniel Gamble

    Son of Lieutenant Bob Gamble, Nathaniel is a previous scholarship winner who will be a junior at Belmont University majoring in Commercial Music.

Neil Gamble

    Son of Lieutenant Bob Gamble, Neil is a previous scholarship winner who will be a sophomore at Clemson University majoring in Chemical Engineering.

Jon-Michael Harmon

    Son of Captain Mike Harmon, Jon-Michael is a previous scholarship winner who will be a junior at Tennessee State University majoring in Business Administration.

Jordan Howard

    Daughter of retired Detective Eric White, Jordan is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at Eastern Michigan University majoring in Nursing.

Amber Hunt

    Daughter of Captain Gerald Hunt, Amber is a previous scholarship winner who will be a junior at USC Upstate majoring in Accounting.

Samuel Huntington

    Son of Corporal Mark Huntington, Lee is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at the Citadel majoring in Chemistry.

Gray McJunkin

    Son of retired Corporal Joey McJunkin, Gray will be a sophomore at Greenville Technical College obtaining an AAS in General Technology with a major in Diesel Equipment Mechanic.

Carly Mize

    Daughter of Officer Monte Mize, Carly is a previous scholarship winner who will be a senior at Clemson University majoring in Psychology.

Jalen Neely-Pearson

    Daughter of Sergeant Travis Pearson, Jalen will be a freshman at USC Upstate majoring in Criminal Justice.

Ashtyn Pomeroy

    Daughter of Master Patrolman Mike Pomeroy and Sergeant Tammy Pomeroy, Ashtyn will be a junior at Greenville Technical College majoring in Nursing.

Kirstyn Pomeroy

    Daughter of Master Patrolman Mike Pomeroy and Sergeant Tammy Pomeroy, Kirstyn will be a sophomore at Tri-County Technical College majoring in Industrial Electronics Technician.

Cody Schwartz

    Son of Officer Richard Schwartz, Cody is a previous scholarship winner who will be a sophomore at the University of South Carolina majoring in Criminology.

Matthew Sorrow

    Son of Officer Russ Sorrow (deceased – killed in line of duty), Matthew will be a freshman at USC-Aiken majoring in Education.
