Police Maintain National Accreditation via CALEA

The Greenville Police Department has been nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since March of 1995. In order to maintain accreditation status, the department is assessed and inspected every three years by CALEA and must maintain compliance with more than 400 national law enforcement standards.

The Greenville Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets nationally accepted professional standards.  This assessment will be in the fourth (4th) quarter of 2014 with tentative dates of December 6-9, 2014

This assessment is administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.(CALEA).  The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.  The local contact for accreditation is Accreditation Manager Frances Moore (864) 467-5212.
