Suspect Arrested in Connection with Jewelry Store Burglaries

Tommy A. BaileyOn 06/11/2013 at approximately 11:40 PM Officers responded to Cochran Jewelers, located at 211 N Main Street in reference to a possible burglary. When officers arrived they found that the front window had been busted and several pieces of jewelry had been taken. At approximately 2:30 AM officers received a call for another burglary at Chimney Rock Gems, located at 205 N Main Street. Officers arrived on scene and found the subject on scene outside the business. Witnesses advised that he was looking into the business prior to the alarm going off. The subject was found to be in possession of items taken from Chimney Rock Gems, as well a hammer and pry bar. Later it was found that Beaded Frog, located at 233 N Main Street had also been burglarized. A search warrant was conducted on the suspect’s apartment and merchandise from Cochran Jewelers and Beaded Frog were found inside his apartment. The subject was charged with three counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, and Possession of Burglary Tools.
