On February 25, 3013, at 5:30 PM, there will be a Greenville City Council meeting, in which two of our new K9’s will be introduced; Valor and Gio. Valor is handled by Officer Koepke and was purchased by funds donated by Misty Nicholson in the amount of $4000. Gio is handled by Officer Smith and was purchased through seized funds. Each K9 requires a kennel for housing and these will be purchased through funds donated by The Greenville Elks Lodge in the amount of $3000. Misty Nicholson and a representative from The Greenville Elks Lodge will be present tonight at the meeting and will be recognized for their generous donations. In addition, the handlers and two K9s will also be present. The Greenville Police Department has had a K9 program since 2006. The program has been running and continues to run on donations. Donations are accepted through the Police Department, and anyone that wishes to contribute can make checks payable to The Greenville Police Department K9 Division. The meeting will be held at City Hall which is located at 206 S. Main St. in Council Chambers.
