Greenville Police Youth Academy
Participants will meet officers from a variety of GPD divisions, who will share their experience - providing valuable information designed to keep teens safe and ensure positive interactions with law enforcement.
The 2018 Youth Academy will be held July 30 to August 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a $20 application fee, and lunch will be provided each day.
The Youth Academy is open to students who are currently in 9th, 10th or 11th grade (2017/18 school year) and who will be going into 10th to 12th grade next school year (2018/19 school year).
"This was great. I loved learning about all the roles of the Greenville Police Department. I'd really recommend this to all the kids whose dream is to be in law enforcement."
"I highly recommend this police academy because it goes into detail about what a day in the life of a police officer is really like and I think everyone should be informed about what police officers go through and deal with. It definitely gave me a new outlook on the police force."
"I had a wonderful experience here. You get to learn about what an officer does and other jobs in the police department, and you also go through scenarios and get to experience something similar. Its like having a sneak-peek of what officers really go through and you learn about the situations they deal with."
