Amy Ryberg Doyle
About the Council Member
Amy has served on City Council since November 2007. She is passionate about building healthy communities while focusing on improving infrastructure to make the community more livable, walkable, bikeable and sustainable. She is also an active civic volunteer, serving on numerous boards, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels and coaching Girls on the Run.
Amy is originally from Aiken, SC and is a graduate of Boston College. Prior to moving to Greenville, Amy lived in Boston, New York and Europe. In New York, she helped launch the internet start-up ivillage.com, Inc., which went public in 1999 and was purchased by NBC Universal in 2006. She went on to launch Fidelity Investments online sites before raising over $7 million in venture capital for her own business, ingredients.com, Inc., which manufactured and sold a line of bath and beauty care products. While living in New York, Amy mentored young women through the "I Have a Dream" Foundation and taught English as a second language.
Amy has also held numerous community leadership positions, including serving on the boards of organizations such as the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate, South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center (SCTAC), Upstate Alliance, the Junior League of Greenville, VisitGreenville SC (formerly the Convention & Visitors Bureau) and the Metro YMCA of Greenville.
Amy and her husband, John, have four children. She is a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, a lifelong runner and a Boston Marathon qualifier.
