Transit Driver Appreciation Day – March 18

We’re celebrating our frontline staff on Thursday, March 18 in observance of Transit Driver Appreciation Day. Bus drivers are essential workers, and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been vital to the continuation of bus service. We are especially grateful for their commitment to our community and their willingness to serve on the front lines during such an unprecedented time. Without our drivers, Greenlink would have been forced to cut service schedules.

On March 18, consider giving Greenlink drivers a smile and a wave if you pass them on the road, thanking them for their hard work as you board the bus, or dropping by the Greenlink Transit Center to let them know you appreciate their dedication. You can also let us know your favorite story about an interaction with a bus driver by submitting a "Compliment" on this online form.

Maintenance Facility Public Meeting – March 30

The Greenville Transit Authority is kicking off the design phase of the new Maintenance & Operations Facility with a public meeting on Tuesday, March 30. This meeting will provide the public with an introduction and overview of the project, an opportunity to meet the design team of architects and engineers who will be working on the project, and an opportunity to provide comments or concerns before the design process begins. The drop-in meeting will allow individuals to attend at any time between 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kroc Center (424 Westfield Street, Greenville).

Hiring Bus Drivers and Mechanics

Greenlink is still searching for the right people to add to our team!

  • Bus Operators serve as drivers for our fixed route network and our paratransit service. Responsibilities include driving the vehicle, providing customer service, ensuring all equipment functions properly, and more.
  • Bus Operator in Training is Greenlink’s in-house training program for individuals who do not yet have a CDL.
  • Mechanics help keep all of Greenlink’s vehicles running by performing preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Trolley Operators drive the downtown trolley on its routes through the Central Business District. This role is similar to the bus operator but offers part-time schedules. Both permanent positions and seasonal positions (April – September) are available.
  • Paratransit Operators drive Greenville Area Paratransit (GAP) clients via a reservation-based service for individuals with disabilities.

Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign

As part of Greenlink’s 18-month human trafficking awareness campaign, Greenlink and local law enforcement agencies are also hosting two events where Greenlink customers can discuss any other crime and safety concerns they may have. The first event took place on February 5 and a recap of the feedback received can be viewed in this video.
