Human Trafficking Training with Jasmine Road

As a component of its Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign, Greenlink has partnered with Jasmine Road to host an innovative virtual training for Greenlink riders and members of the public on Wednesday, June 23 at 11 a.m.

Jasmine Road’s Coercion Through “Choice” is a simulation training exercise that provides an interactive learning experience about the realities of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Participants are provided with the backstory and current situation of a hypothetical woman based on the real-life experiences of local survivors of trafficking and prostitution in Greenville.

Participants then have the opportunity to put themselves in the survivor’s shoes and make their own choices as they attempt to escape and overcome obstacles that many women face on a daily basis. The choices they make throughout the exercise determine the outcome of their experience, creating a unique and individual learning opportunity for each participant.

Ultimately, Coercion Through “Choice” illustrates the reality that prostitution is most often the “choice” for those with the fewest choices. Register here to attend this virtual training on Wednesday, June 23.

Route 510 and 601 Changes Effective July 1

To avoid delays caused by active railroad crossings and keep trips on-time for our customers, the following changes to Route 510: Laurens and Route 601: Simpsonville Connector will go into effect on Thursday, July 1:

  • Route 510: Laurens- this route will no longer service Innovation Drive. Customers who need to access St. Francis Millennium should use Route 602: Woodruff Connector or walk from the stops on Laurens Road at Innovation Drive. Greenlink is installing two new stops on Laurens Road for better access to the Vinings at Laurel Creek and the Innovation Apartments. View a PDF map of the new route.
  • Route 601: Simpsonville Connector- this route will no longer loop behind the Mauldin Square shopping plaza using Owens Lane, Peachtree Lane, or Cary Street. Greenlink is installing two new stops on S. Main Street near the Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts for easy access to the Publix shopping plaza. View a PDF map of the new route.

Art Contest Winners

In collaboration with the City of Greenville’s Arts in Public Places Commission and Youth Commission, Greenlink has enhanced 10 bus shelters with inspiring artwork by local students through its inaugural Bus Shelter Art Contest.

Greenlink identified shelter locations and designed the scope of the project and the Youth Commission assisted in contacting local high schools to raise awareness about the contest. There were 59 submissions and a jury of seven judges selected the top 10 designs. The Arts in Public Places Commission awarded $3,500 toward production and installation costs to have the winning artwork digitized and adhered inside bus shelters throughout the City of Greenville with a vinyl wrap.
