Downtown Merchant Association: August Meeting RecapThank you to everyone who was able to join us for the August Downtown Merchant Association meeting. We had great attendance and meaningful dialogue. We were excited to be joined by special guest Brandon Madden, Deputy City Manager, and Kendra Williams, Assistant to the Mayor. A heartfelt and sincere thank you to David Stone for welcoming us at Swanson's Warehouse, and Brian and Nicole Cendrowski at FireForge for hosting a post meeting fellowship and happy hour. Grand Bohemian Lodge - Open for ReservationsGrand Bohemian Lodge Greenville is now taking reservations! The project in the heart of downtown Greenville exemplifies the benefits of public-private partnership. The City committed more than $3.6 million in reimbursements for public improvements around the project."We are thankful for the robust public-private partnerships that drive tourism to our vibrant city, improve roadways and connections, and create new gathering spaces downtown," said Mayor Knox White. "The Grand Bohemian Lodge and its surrounding landscape are a perfect fit for the falls, blending seamlessly into the park."

7 Year Pavement Plan CreatedThe City of Greenville, in partnership with CONSOR Engineering and Roadway Asset Services (RAS), has surveyed the condition of city streets and created a seven-year paving maintenance plan for roadways owned by the city. The survey found 85.5% of the networks of streets were in good, satisfactory or fair condition. Over the course of the next seven years, approximately 33% of the existing city streets will be treated in the current plan. Corporate and Small Business Volunteer Opportunities Available at Fall for GreenvilleFall for Greenville is looking for corporate volunteer partners and small business partners to join together in making the 2022 festival weekend a success. With the Corporate Volunteer Program, partnering organizations will have the opportunity to volunteer in various positions throughout the three-day event and, in return, will receive a donation to the pre-selected 501c3 non-profit of their choosing. The Small Business Volunteer Program gives businesses the opportunity to register employees for volunteer positions while receiving recognition of their businesses support of the festival. In addition, groups will have the opportunity to volunteer in various locations together, providing a great outlet for employee team building.

Improvements Coming to Hundreds of Greenlink Bus StopsThe Greenville Transit Authority was awarded $5,845,300 from the U.S. Department of Transportation's RAISE (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) program to improve bus stops.
Amenities will include a mix of shelters, push button lighting and benches at more than 300 bus stops in Greenville and across Greenville County. The goal of the project is to improve the experience public transit customers have and to encourage more people to ride Greenlink buses.

Making the Way For Mobility City Council approved funding for the Cleveland Connector, a multi-use pedestrian path that will provide a direct connection between Cleveland Park and the Swamp Rabbit Trail extension.
The project includes the permanent closure of the Richland Way tunnel below East Washington Street to vehicular traffic, which began on Monday, August 15.

2022 More to Enjoy Sign ApplicationThe City of Greenville is continuing its More to Enjoy wayfinding program, which features newly-designed business directory signs at key Main Street intersections. The purpose of the program is to encourage downtown visitors to discover shops and restaurants located on side streets in the Central Business District by listing business names and providing directional arrows. The signs are designed to be eye-catching while still incorporating seamlessly into the City’s overall downtown branding campaign.
Submit an application or apply for renewal by filling out the 2022 More to Enjoy application. Space on the signs are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. For questions or more information, please email Cameron Campbell at cjcampbell@greenvillesc.gov.
