Stewart Spinks celebrates 50 years

A Half Century with Spinx

For 50 years, Spinx has been the place to pump gas and get your fill of pure fried-chicken goodness. The man behind the brand is founder and CEO Stewart Spinks. "That was my launching point. For about two weeks I put on my Shell uniform in the morning and did it that way. Then the check quit showing up in the mailbox. So I had to confess to my wife Martha," Spinks told us.

FROM HERE Spinx has expanded to 80 stores statewide and employs more than 1400 people. Spinks donates 10 percent of the company’s annual profits to community organizations.

Roci and Andres, owners of Unlocked Coffee

A Pandemic Survival Story

Starting a small business is never easy. Opening two months prior to a pandemic? There's no playbook for that.

But Salazar and Carmargo's kindness, happiness, optimism and amazing coffee have allowed to them to survive and thrive, as they celebrate their second anniversary in Greenville this year. In 2023, they will expand operations while staying true to their mission of supporting individual farmers in their home country of Colombia.
