Customer Listening Sessions: We Want to Hear From You!

Help identify priorities and projects for the upcoming year. What improvements would you like to see? Are there bus passes that we don’t currently sell that would benefit you? Are there specific bus stop locations you would like the team to evaluate?

Or stop by and use this opportunity to get to know Greenlink staff.

The Customer Listening Sessions are scheduled for the following dates. All sessions will take place at the Greenlink Transit Center (100 W. McBee Avenue):

Tuesday, January 31: 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 1: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 2: 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Friday, February 3 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 4 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Customer feedback drives staff recommendations for future changes. Individuals who are unable to attend a Customer Listening Session may email their feedback to nmcaden@greenvillesc.gov by February 4, 2023.

Umo Card

Exact Change Required for Bus Fare

Greenlink’s buses will only accept exact change from passengers paying with cash and coins beginning January 2, 2023. Bills larger than $1 for single trips (or larger than $5 for an all-day pass) will no longer be accepted upon boarding. Change can be made at the Transit Center via the change vending machine, or customers with larger bills can load value onto a Umo smartphone app account or a Umo smartcard at the Transit Center. To help with this policy transition, Greenlink will waive the Umo smartcard activation fee ($2) for any customer requesting a smartcard before February 1, 2023.

Partner Spotlight: Greenville Connects

You may have come across the NPR Tiny Desk Concert series online. These are intimate concerts performed in a small space, with a small audience, a small song list, with scaled down instrumentals.

Greenville Connects is excited to announce its own version with the Tiny Bus Concert series.

No Car November Participants

Video Spotlight: #NoCarNovember

Throughout the month of November 2022, we encouraged Greenville County residents to give up their cars and choose a sustainable transportation option –walking, bicycling, taking the bus, or carpooling – to help reduce congestion and improve air quality.
Those who signed the pledge committed to ditching their cars for at least one week.

In total, 23 brave individuals participated with in the #NoCarNovember Challenge and estimated that they offset up to 4,480 total miles.
Check out this video showcasing participants as they strategize and plan for the challenge, and then watch a recap to see how it went!

Food for Fare – Donation Drive for United Ministries

Greenlink is supporting United Ministries’ “Souper Bowl of Caring” food drive on Friday, February 10, by allowing passengers to board for free in exchange for canned food donations. Fixed route passengers will receive one free ride for every two canned goods they donate when boarding the bus and GAP customers will receive one free ride for every four canned goods they donate when they board the bus.

Greenlink customers and employees donated 444 non-perishable food items during the 2022 Food for Fare event and with your help, we can collect even more donations this year!
